Title: Days of the Week : A Look at Ordinal Linguistic Personification
Year: 2013
Medium: Engraved and Laser Cut Illustration Board, Printed Bristol Paper, text and layout done in Adobe Illustrator, images drawn on with Crayon.
The concept behind this artist book is a type synesthesia known as Ordinal-Linguistic Personification. This is when one associates personalities with the elements of ordered sequences, such as numbers, letters, and in this case, days of the week. The book is heptagonal in shape to show the cyclical nature of the week, while allowing space for each individual day. Another reference to the number of days in the week can be seen in the height of each page, which is seven inches.
